maps is probably one of the most used mobile apps on iOS and Android devices. It provides fast access to a variety of location-based-services, and, in the case of the Android version, provides real-time voice-guided navigation (and for free). Today Google unveiled the browser version of maps, which works with Android and iOS devices.

The browser version lacks many of the features that can be found in the apps (like multi-touch), but it provides an effective way to browse a map while in the browser without having to use the app. Also, let us know forget that not all Android users have maps installed, so the web version will be a welcomed addition.
